YOUNG people have been terrorised at the Stonehenge festivals by self-styled Satanists, says the Bishop of Salisbury, the Rt Rev John Baker.

The Bishop was renewing his plea to hippies to stay away this summer from Stonehenge where 550 arrests were made last year by police trying to stop the revival of the illegal festival.

He said he had eyewitness accounts from doctors and clergy who had to deal with the physical and psychological casualties.

"Girls under 16 on the run from home were in obvious physical and moral danger," he said.

"Young people were terrorised, like the boy who alleged he had been held over a fire and cursed by self-styled Satanists, who then dragged him round the site behind a motor cycle."
