First Published July 20 1993 RETIRED company executive Dennis Wheatley is to take a team of dowsers inside the barred inner sanctum of Stonehenge. Mr Wheatley, of Blunsdon near Swindon, taught himself the art of dowsing - detecting invisible earth energies using home-made divining rods - and is now running courses for beginners. He will be taking 25 students who have signed up for one of his next courses, entitled Dowsing History's Mysteries, to the inner sanctum of Stonehenge, which is generally cordoned off to members of the public. 'English Heritage recognise the advanced dowsing research I have done at the site, but it will take several years to complete,' he said. 'Because of this I have been allowed access to Stonehenge with my students to further investigate the site's intricates earth energy flows and geometric pattern such as spirals, halogs, arcs and necklaces.' Mr Wheatley is running his next course, costing £12, at the Health Hydro in Milton Road. The course consists of a single evening workshop of two hours on July 30, followed by field visits to Woodhenge and Stonehenge on August 1. For further details call the Health Hydro on Swindon 693787. Back to 1993 index |
