published on June 25, 1984 A MAN has been found dead at the Stonehenge festival camp site in Wiltshire. Phillip Keane, 25, from South Darenth, near Dartford, Kent, was discovered by his girlfriend Sally Hunt in the tent they were sharing. He was given first-aid by the St John Ambulance Brigade, but was found to be dead on arrival at Salisbury Infirmary. Witlshire police said today a note had been found and they did not suspect crime Wiltshire coroner Mr John Elgar has been informed and an inquest is being arranged. There were 1,600 camped illegally on National Trust land at the monument today. There have been 199 arrests, of which 130 were for alleged drugs offences. Back to 1984 index |
