published on May 29, 1986 A FAMOUS pair are settling into their new home at Avebury. Television personality Ludovic Kennedy and his wife Moira Shearer, the former ballerina, have moved into an 18th century cottage in the stone circle village. Ludovic, presenter of BBC TV's Did you See? said they had chosen Avebury because "We found a home we liked and a neighbourhood we liked. "We rather like the West of England," he added. Another advantage was Avebury's closeness to Swindon with the fast rail connection to London. "Swindon is only a short car ride away and the train to London takes only 50 minutes," he said. The TV presenter added: "We like it at Avebury very much indeed, we are very happy living here." Back to 1986 index |
