Hackpen, or Broad Hinton, white horse is situated on the slope of Hackpen Hill, near The Ridgeway and close to Broad Hinton village.

Its origin is uncertain but it may have been created in 1838 by Broad Hinton parish clerk Henry Eatwell, to commemorate the coronation of Queen Victoria.

However, a letter to the Evening Advertiser in 1991 warned of the danger of real horses in the area after a dog was trampled on and killed. Visitors with small dogs and children should take care when visiting the horse.
