The latest mathematical calculations show that either we are alone in our galaxy, or aliens are ignoring us. That is the claim of Thomas Hair, Florida Gulf Coast University mathematician. Hair used approximations of what he considered very conservative estimates in calculating how long it would take a society to leave its home planet and travel to the nearest star.
“They’ve either passed us by, or they stay around their home star systems and contemplate their navels…. whatever the reason we’re being ignored, there is no chance ET, if he exists, does not know we are here,” Hair said.
However, University of Minnesota physicist Woods Halley, who’s recently published a book about the prospects of extraterrestrial life, has concluded that we don’t know enough about how life starts to even recognise alien lifeforms if they were staring us in the face.
