First published on July 11, 1991 SELF-STYLED son of God David Icke today stepped into the great crop circle debate. He claims they are the last desperate attempt by the spirit of the earth to ask creation for help before it is too late. The former television sports presented issued a statement today following his visit to corn circles at Tim Carson's farm at Alton Barnes, near Marlborough, on Monday, as reported exclusively in the Evening Advertiser. He said circles were symbols created by the earth to plead with creation to help. "This universal language is that of symbols. So these crop 'circles' should, in truth, be called crop symbols. The way these symbols are put together creates a message for all those who understand this universal language and the crop symbols that have appeared over the last few years with increasing complexity have been the last desperate attempt by the spirit of the earth to ask creation for help before it's too late. For 12,000 years while she has been battered by the consequences of human behaviour, the communication links between the earth spirit and the Godhead have been severed as a result of the actions of the being, known as Lucifer, which is seeking to destroy the earth." Mr Icke said the earth's pain and suffering reached a point last year when she knew her physical body would die very soon without a massive increase in positive energies (created by love and known as the Light). When viewed from a great height the circles are one complete message, he said. People can help because the symbols, although temporary, offer a channel through which humans can send positive energies, created by love, to the earth spirit and receive from her certain energies. "The public are invited by the Godhead to visit the crop shapes and send thoughts of love (positive energies) to the earth spirit." People are also invited to walk the symbols in the direction the corn has fallen, said Mr Icke, but warned: "It is also important that the farms, fields and symbols be respected at all times and no damage is done, intentionally or otherwise." Mr Icke added: "As always those who control the media can use their free will to laugh at these words and to ridicule and dismiss them, as they have done with all that we have said this past four months."
