Exquisitely preserved 10,000 year old remains of a strawberry blonde Wooly Mammoth have been discovered in Siberia. The incredible find supported scientists claims that not all Wooly Mammoths were dark haired. The young (when it was alive of course!) animal would have been 9 to 15 foot tall and still had its foot pads and ginger hair intact.

Professor of earth and environmental sciences at the University of Michigan, Daniel Fisher, said: “Already there is dramatic evidence of a life-and-death struggle between Yuka and some top predator, probably a lion. Even more interesting, there are hints that humans may have taken over the kill at an early stage.”
