LIDDINGTON Castle is another Iron Age hill fort, or earthwork similar to Barbury Castle. It is believed to be one of the sites where the battle of Badon took place, which involved a British ruler (possibly even King Arthur) defeat and hold off the Saxon invaders. Situated above the village of Liddington, the Iron Age earthwork remains consist of a deep ditch and a 40-foot high rampart. |
