First published on December 3, 1994 Researcher hunts for spooks' haunts A Swindon researcher is appealing for volunteers to help in his search for some Wiltshire ghosts. Keith Wills of the Institute for Supernatural Research is compiling a database of paranormal anomalies - more commonly known as hauntings - in and around the county. He is urging people to write in with any stories of any supernatural encounters they may have had. "Any stories will be treated in the strictest of confidence and no attempt will be made to contact the sender without prior invitation," says Mr Wills. "If the material submitted proves promising enough, I intend to publish these reports and submit them to other investigative organisations. I would print stories using pseudonyms where preferred." Mr Wills is also hoping that one or two people may join him in an investigative capacity. "I'm not looking for thrill-seekers. They will be required to research the history of buildings, localities and people and interact with witnesses in a professional and often compassionate way. They should be able to work without supervision and an understanding of the paranormal is essential." Back to 1994 index |
