RENOWNED as the
most haunted pub in the country, the Kings Arms dates back to the 11th Century.
A monk apparently haunts the pub after dying on the premises in unusual circumstances. During construction work in the early 1990s a mystery key was found in the pub's wall days before two unidentified men warned a barmaid that no good would come from knocking down the wall. They vanished minutes later. A mysterious bird and a miner have also been seen. A woman who is believed to have died when her runaway carriage crashed into the pub can be heard screaming on the anniversary of her death. |
