First published on July 4, 1968 Wroughton man saw them too The two women who saw "flying saucers" over Great Cheverell on Saturday can cancel that trip to the opticians and relax - they are not alone. An antique dealer, Mr. Keith Blake, tells me that he saw them as well - also at about 10.15p.m but this time near his home at 75 Wharf Road, Wroughton. He saw two "elongated blobs" outlined against the sunset. "I watched them for about five minutes." he said. "There were two large ones, and in a semi-circle around one of them there were six or seven smaller ones. They were all jet black." But unlike those sighted by the two women we reported on Tuesday these were completely stationary. Mr Blake is not utterly convinced that the objects were inhabited by little green men. Groping for a reasonable explanation, he said: "I suppose they could have been clouds, but apart from them there wasn't a cloud in the sky." Back to 1968 index |
