First published in April 5, 1996 Les sells van that's wheelie spooky A Swindon man believes that the van he has just sold may be haunted. Les Stewart, of the Cottages Hunt's Copse, South Marston, took a few photographs of his white Sherpa van just after he agreed a sale on it. But when Les went to pick up the photographs he was astonished to see the shape of a manat the driving wheel, complete with an almost featureless face, suit jacket, shirt and tie. "I took the pictures in the copse outside my cottage," he says. Les has never had any spooky experiences in the van before, but he has believed for some time that his cottage is haunted. "I did have farmhouse latches on the inside doors but they used to rattle up and down as if someone was trying to get in," says Les. "It sounded like a machine gun. Eventually I changed the handles, but now i get tapping on the window instead." On one occasion Les felt the bed he was lying in being pressed down and is convinced that a ghost climbed in under the blankets. Another evening a clock which hadn't worked for years suddenly ran for an hour. It stopped and hasn't worked again since, but the next morning Les discovered that his mother had died just as the clock stopped. "I'm not scared of it. I call him Bryan," says Les.
