The new owners of Faringdon's Crown Hotel already have one live-in guest by the name of Nancy.

Quite how other guests will react to Nancy's occasional habits of groaning in the ballroom, twisting curtains and rattling the locks is unclear, but Jack and Betty Bates are not put off.

The couple have recently bought the ancient coaching inn in Market Place and inherited Nancy's friendly ghost as well.

Jack and Betty plan to restore the inn - dating back to 1480 - to its former glory.
