First Published January 24 2002 Film makers have a spooky experience in the pub FILM makers who spent the night at the Red Lion Pub in Avebury claim they experienced a terrifying paranormal encounter. The documentary team, fronted by former Blue Peter presenter Yvette Fielding, spent 24 hours in the supposedly haunted pub. And according to Yvette's husband, producer Karl Beattie, they witnessed unexplainable points of light and literally things which went bump in the night. Yvette Fielding, parapsychologist Jason Karl and medium Derek Acorah each spent the night alone, except for an infrared camera, in one of the haunted rooms. Karl said: 'Yvette came running out of her room in quite a state after having her hair pulled about. I went back in to do the rest of the night with her in the room and I felt something brush my hair and scratch me right down the back of my neck. 'I've got a long scratch mark down the back of my neck which I can't explain. 'We also picked up little light points, or orbs,on the infra-red camera flying across the room.' He said there was also a loud thud in one of the corners of the room which they can't explain. Most Haunted is being filmed for satellite channel Living TV. The team plan to visit ten of the most haunted building in the British Isles. Karl added the Red Lion, which is the fifth location they have visited, is definitely the most haunted house they have found so far. He said: 'It was absolutely unbelievable, it surpassed all our expectations.' Back to 2002 index |
