Sleep-ins invited to test haunted car

THE OWNER of Britain's spookiest car is inviting people to spend a night in it. Keith Tagliaferro is offering anyone the chance to sleep in his purple Ford Capri. He wants an independent opinion on whether it is haunted - and is willing to send the car to Swindon.

Number plate dealer Keith, 41, bought the car for £150 in December to get the number plate - ARK 666 Y. He had the car exorcised in January by 'white witch' Kevin Carlyon, who has worked on the stones at Avebury.

Strange occurrences include:
  • Mechanics refusing to work on it after hearing mumbling noises coming from it
  • A woman screaming and jumping out of the car saying she had seen the figure of a woman in the back seat
  • The engine starting on its own
  • A wooden hut near the car catching fire and flames spreading to nearby garages.
'The engine has also cut out at exactly the same time as the rear view mirror fell off,' said Keith. 'It's all really weird. I was told when I bought the car there were problems with it, and the last owner was certainly in a hurry to get rid of it. I did not really believe the stories at first, but now I'm not so sure.'

If you want to spend a night in the car and make up your own mind whether it is haunted, contact Keith Tagliaferro on (0973) 312181 or Kevin Carlyon on (01424) 460598. Anyone taking up the offer would have to pay expenses to get the car to Swindon.
