TEENAGER Gary Warriner not only believes in ghosts he also wants to meet one.

But he is the first to admit he doesn't know what he will do if that ever happens.

"Not having met one yet, I don't know what my reaction would be," said 17-year-old gary. "But I will do my best not to be frightened about it."

Gary is so serious about meeting a spook he has set himself up as a ghost hunter willing to travel anywhere at no charge. He has already advertised his services but so far there has been no response from people who hear things that go bump in the night or see shadowy figures flitting around churchyards.

Said Gary: "This is no hoax. I am deadly serious about it all. Having been interested in the supernatural for several years I have now decided to do some investigation to find out if these things are really true."

Gary, who lives at Chester Street, Cirencester, says that many people have the wrong idea about the work of a ghost hunter. "His job is to investigate a case and find out whether it is genuine or a hoax," he said.

"You cannot rid a house of a ghost - this can seldom be done, even by a priest. Gary says several of his friends are also interested in the supernatural and he expects a couple of them to accompany him on ghost expeditions to witness any goings on.

"We would spend the night in a haunted house with a tape recorder, camera and a notebook to record any phenomena that may take place," he said.

Gary, who works as a tyre fitter, also lists reading and writing poetry among his hobbies. A booklet of his poems is to be published shortly.

Although he does write about the supernatural none of the 15 poems in the booklet touch on ghosties and ghoulies.

"They are about life in general," said Gary, who would like to be a full-time poet or work with something connected with literature. Anyone who feels Gary can help them can contact him on Cirencester 2535.
