Message: About 2 months ago I visited the Red Lion public house at Avebury stone circle in Wiltshire. It was a Sunday evening around 10pm at night. I knew of the ghost called Florrie that haunts the pub but I really did not expect to see anything. I did see a woman's hand wearing a large green ring whilst standing in the pub. The woman's hand was coming from the staircase. I was quite surprised on seeing the hand and all of a sudden it was gone again. I mentioned this to my boyfriend James and we have decided to go back to the pub on another hunt for Florrie the Ghost.

Message: About a month ago my wife and I went to Melksham and visited a large graveyard in the middle of town. Whilst my wife was studying the stones I decided to take a walk down towards a river/canal. I walked over a small footbridge. There was a small pond which had what I thought was a green feathered bird. I'm no expert but thought it was something to catch on my camera. I pointed my camera towards the pond and took a snap. I missed capturing the bird on film. However to my amazement there was on my picture a white haze over the pond, a wisp perhaps. I don't clame it to be anything just an interesting picture, perhaps a ghost over the pond.

Message: Wiltshire is definitley no stranger to strange happenings! I used to live in a house with another woman my age, and the strangest things started to happen! Doors would open, things would move, and there would be no explanation to it all! After researching we found that our house was haunted, along with the house next door. The ghost never did anything to harm us, but we still felt threatened! So we contacted our local priest and asked her to come to our house, she gave us some advice and told us to politely ask the ghost to leave, we did this and didnt have any trouble afterwards! So wiltshire is definitley weird!

Message: I stayed at a wonderful B&B; in Avebury, called THE LODGE, located on the high street. Staying in a front bedroom, the lights blew and weird sounds were heard. The owner was coy about this subject, but opened up to tell me about the ghost of William Stukeley. Also an anciant Shaman spirit haunts the house.
I saw an appearance in the room of translucent white energy ... very scary! My girlfriend has gone back to the States and still can't believe what happened.

Message: I saw a ghost of a young girl my Wilthire home. She had red hair and a brilliant blue dress and hair ribbon. She was aged about 8 and was standing looking at my baby in her crib, she was in a shaft of bright light. She turned and looked at me smiled and then disappeared.

Message: I believe in ghosts after working in a building in Newport Street, Swindon, which was definitely haunted. There were many noises that could not be accounted for, openeing doors and footsteps (I heard them myself walking straight behind me). The owners of the company were businessmen and unimpressed with anything much beyond ensuring the success of their business, but they experienced things themselves and came to accept them. The building has often been empty and up for rent, businesses do not seem to stay long there. I would love to know if others have heard and seen what we did when I was there. Thankyou for your time.

Message: This is a very interesting site.
I used to work on a shop in Amesbury which dated back well before 1900.
We would often encounter the resident ghost there. She was very friendly, but if she didn`t like someone they knew it!
You would often get a smell of old fashined flowers, violets was a particular one, some people heard her walking about and she even used to swing the bin lid in the staffroom, even when it was shut down completly. Everyone used to say hello in the morning to her and when shutting up at night say goodbye. I think she will be there for many years to come.

Message: Myself and a friend have seen a ghost of what could be a teacher at Sheldon School, Chippenham. It was mid-December 1999 at about 6:30-7am. We were taking a breather after rigging lights all night for a school show. We were sitting on the stage looking out into the dining hall. It appeared for about 10 seconds and walked from right to left of the dining hall. I had blamed it on being tired at the time, but later that day we described exactly the same thing. I spend a lot of time at sheldon through lighting work, usually working late at night and we always hear noises, bangs even coughs. It's very easy for people to dismiss by saying there was obviously someone else there, but we know we always lock ourselves in, and we know we're the only one's there
